Shooting stars down at the local gas station. The ever vigilant eye of Rockland reporter Bill Demarest recently caught some Hollywood action in the Hudson Valley. A movie featuring Keanu Reeves and Bridget Moynahan (who’s outrageously cool in the indie movie ‘Truck Driver’) was filming at an upper Nyack gas station, with huge screens and dolly. Check it out.

Thriller ‘John Wick’ puts Reeves in role of ex-hitman

UPPER NYACK – An Upper Nyack gas station is the set today for the filming of a revenge thriller movie starring Keanu Reeves.

Scenes for the movie are being shot at the CITGO gas station, 501 N. Highland Ave. (Route 9W) and in the vicinity at the corner of Route 9W and Christian Herald Road, just a block from Nyack High School.

The movie is described as placing Reeves in the role of a former hit man who gets back into the thick of things when his car is stolen and his dog is killed. The film is directed by Chad Stahelski and David Leitch and has been shooting around the New York City area.

In the movie with Reeves: Michael Nyqvist, Willem Dafoe and Bridget Moynahan, who plays Reeve’s wife in the film.

The Nyack area has been very busy lately with a variety of movies and TV shows being shot. Last week, HBO was in Nyack to shoot scenes for a pilot, “People in New Jersey,” and before that crews were busy shooting for CBS’ show “Elementary.”
