Visit the Sloatsburg Farmers Market on Saturdays … connect to fresh produce and other good foods

The Sloatsburg Public Library hosts a Saturday Farmers Market from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. through November 17. The market sets up in front of the library along Route 17. Rain or shine. Call the library circulation desk at 845/753-2001 for more information.

The Sloatsburg Public Library hosted its first Farmers Market Saturday in mid June and by all accounts it looks like a success, though sustained vendor participation and community attendance will be the real gauge. In Memory of Longtime Sloatsburger Richard Cook — Dedicated to Family and Community

Longtime Sloatsburg resident Richard Cook passed away on June 5, surrounded by his family, the thing he held nearest and dearest. He was 78 years old.

Cook was a quiet participant in Sloatsburg’s community, devoted to St. Joan of Arc Church, the Knights of Columbus and the Sloatsburg Public Library, where he was a Trustee and Financial Officer. He was a strong advocate for Library children’s programs and was the project leader on installing new fencing at the Library – his last effort as an active board member. Continue Reading
