Paul Paulson remembers Amy Clifford with a happy face, having fun and enjoying last June’s Classic Car Show at Sloatsburg Community Field that was put on for her benefit.

East Ramapo Students Take To The Streets To Protest Budget Cuts

Posted on 29 May 2013 by Editor

Staging an old-fashioned civics lesson, some 500 East Ramapo School District students staged a walkout Wednesday afternoon to protest the district’s budget cuts.

Students from Spring Valley and Ramapo High Schools made their way through the streets of Spring Valley to Memorial Park in a show of young people power, with groups meandering along Rt. 59 to periodic shouts of  “Save Our School.”

The students also had a nice sing-song call and response chant, repeating itself and giving a succinct protest message:

“We’re marching to  . . . Memorial Park . . . to save our arts . . . and make our mark.” Continue Reading

The Celebration of Miss Anna Kovaly’s 100th Birthday

Retired Colonel in the US Army and West Point graduate Laureen (Lorrie) Barone had not expected to speak, but was overcome with the public outpouring of affection for her former second grade teacher,  Miss Anna Kovaly.

Central Ramapo Voters Say Yes, East Ramapo Voters Say No

Posted on 22 May 2013 by Editor

With vote tally at approximately 1,602-528, the implied consensus is that district residents are in agreement with the Board of Education to hold the line on taxes while the district streamlines the system to meet budget demands.
