A Bumpy Ramapo Bridge Gets Smoothed Over

One of Western Ramapo’s bumpiest bridges has been given some TLC this week. The Korean War Memorial Highway Bridge carries Rt. 59 traffic over the Norfolk Southern Railroad in Hillburn, NY at the entrance to Torne Valley Road.  New York Department of Transporation contractors were working the last Tuesday and Wednesday of July cutting clean sections of concrete on the southbound lane. The end result is a smooth new section of bridge road. Continue Reading

Marcello Puts On A Show In Suffern

The Village of Suffern recently announced the formation of a new Downtown Committee that will be tasked with helping to shape a revitalization effort that attracts more people to the village center.

One business owner in particular enthusiastically endorsed Mayor Trish Abato’s plan, even inviting the committee to hold its first meeting at his restaurant, with lunch on the house. Marcello Russodivito, owner and chef extraordindaire of Marcello’s Ristorante, has been off working on his own as a one-man economic whirlwind. His popular Italian eatery in Suffern already serves  as a lively center of dining and nightlife along Lafayette Street.
