Make that two candidates now that former Spring Valley judge and Democratic Rockland County Executive candidate David Fried has gotten tossed from the ballot due to signature challenges.
Fried challenged some 3,337 of 4,435 opponent and Suffern Mayor Dagan Lacorte’s ballot signatures. A Fried signature challenge also knocked Vladimir Leon off the Democratic primary ballot. Continue Reading

A back brake fire on a tanker truck carrying milled zinc oxide, a flammable liquid, south on the NY Thruway set into motion a night of action for many Suffern residents and those rescue agencies that serve them. The tanker reportedly carried some 4000 to 6000 gallons of the liquid. Continue Reading

The proverbial rubber hits the road this evening when the East Ramapo School Board meets for a special meeting at 7 p.m. to “consider matters lawfully coming before the board. It is anticipated that the Board may enter an executive session to discuss matters lawfully to be so considered.”
A protest rally by an East Ramapo School District advocacy group, Save Our Schools Coalition, is planned before the ER board meeting. Continue Reading
