Where Christmas Trees go up in flames … Tuxedo hosts its annual Bonfire Blaze Saturday

Posted on 31 January 2018 by Editor

The Tuxedo Fire Department is always on hand at the annual Bonfire Blaze.

The Town of Tuxedo figured out a creative way to dispose of holiday trees and wreaths, which mostly being pine products, can pose a fire hazard and be a problem. Create a community event where you burn the whole lot. Thus was born the annual Night Brightening Blaze Bonfire, hosted by the Tuxedo Recreation Department.

Community members have already done the hard part by pitching out their Christmas trees. The big blaze goes off this Saturday, February 3, at Powerhouse Park, beginning at 4:30 p.m. It’s a great way to warm up for Super Bowl Sunday.

Sponsored by the Tuxedo Recreation Department, the Night Brightening Blaze Bonfire, which has evolved into a fun, family-oriented seasonal celebration, complete with ice-skating (if the weather cooperates), hotdogs and lots of roasted marshmallows. The Tuxedo Recreation Department encourages community members to bring cookies and brownies and other goods they’d like to share. If you’ve never been to the Bonfire Blaze, it’s a hot time in the ol’ town! Check it out.
