A special evening honoring veterans takes place this Tuesday, November 29th at 7:30 p.m. at Sloatsburg’s Village Hall.

The program, which is entitled Remembering & Honoring All Veterans, will be hosted by Sloatsburg Mayor Carl Wright and is in recognition of the 70th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. The evening includes a special tribute to Staff Sgt. James Moran and Chief Joseph Miele. A contingent of officers and dignitaries representing the area will speak; the roster includes New York State Senator David Carlucci, Rockland County Legislator Doug Jobson, Rockland County Sheriff James Kralick, and Sloatsburg American Legion Post Commander Pat Miller. Joseph Miele founded American Legion Post 1643 and served as long-time Ramapo Police Department chief.

The program features music by Patty Parker and the Consiglio sisters, and includes a reception and refreshments afterward.
