tuxedofarmslaunchIf you were so inclined and were paying attention to such a thing, Tuxedo Farms recently arrived imagined whole in living color almost overnight — at least in digital form.

In Sloatsburg news, the Tuxedo Town Board agenda also contains a resolution that would add local resident Kevin Bonkoski as a part-time police dispatcher to the Town’s police force.

Tuxedo Farms is the newly rebranded Tuxedo Reserve which is planned to occupy some 1200 acres just north of Sloatsburg and southwest Tuxedo, NY. The years-in-the-making project is a Related Companies development slated to be built in phases, whereby, Related will work with various developers to construct the Tuxedo Farms in phases that, when completed, will contain single-family homes that include cottages, manors, carriage houses, townhouses, and even apartments.

If ever fully realized, Tuxedo Farms would be approximately the same size as Sloatsburg.

Commons and community re-imagined are two threads running through the Tuxedo Farms digitial experience, which promotes the proposed development’s 800 acres of preserved open space, freshwater lake, Post Office, Village Green, General Store, Great Hall, and Jitney service to and from the Tuxedo Train Station.

Tuxedo Farms may include a branch of the Middletown, NY YMCA as one of the community's amenities.

An important Tuxedo Farms amenity is the proposed 30,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art YMCA that will be a branch of the Middletown, NY YMCA. The Tuxedo Farms YMCA proposal is scheduled to be presented to the Town of Tuxedo Board meeting on Monday, July 28, at 7:30 p.m. at Tuxedo Town Hall.

The Tuxedo Farms YMCA proposal agenda item will be open for public comment.

The re-imagined Tuxedo Farms experience reflects the simple semi-rural, rustic life of Western Ramapo – but in bright, bold images of families and friends being active and adventurous while living in New Englandy-named home models set in woody, well-appointed settings. There are the hills and waters of Sterling Forest Park next door. The pitch as stated in the Tuxedo Farms Living Here overview:

Tuxedo Farms is designed for residents who not only cherish vast recreational and entertainment opportunities, crisp open spaces, and breathtaking topography, but understand and appreciate the value of prime new construction, an attractive tax base and an extremely manageable one-hour commute to New York City.

Earlier in the spring there was a brief push to get the Tuxedo Farms YMCA survey out to the community, to take the pulse of locals on if and how residents would use and respond to a YMCA branch in the area (Sloatsburg residents would purportedly receive a local resident discount on membership). The YMCA would have both indoor and outdoor programs and include a swimming pool, basketball, squash and racquetball courts, tennis courts, sports fields, summer camps, and other programs, most likely with all sorts of add-on fees.

With the new Tuxedo Farms website and presentation of the proposed YMCA, the Related Companies has apparently put out an official calling card for its re-imagined community in the Highland hills. Stay tuned.
