The Sloatsburg Library Celebrates the Season with a Spring Fling Thing at the end of April

There always seems to be something good going on at the Sloatsburg Library. Whether a seasonal craft or special program, the library thrives as a center for the community. Library staff is ready to celebrate the season at the end of April with a special afternoon of food, family and fun called the Spring Fling Thing.

The Saturday, April 27, event will provide something for everyone and feature a couple popular Rockland County food trucks, select vendors, a visit by the Bubble Bus for kids, and the return of the Locksmiths, the Americana duo of Robert and Krissy, who visit these parts from their home turf in Brooklyn.

The Locksmiths have made the Sloatsburg Spring Fling Thing part of their spring tour. Look for them to play a couple sets of originals and covers throughout the day.

The Spring Fling will also see the return of Horman’s Best Pickles – all the way from Long Island. Horman’s Best has delicious selection of pickles, from spicy to garlic to dill and extra sour. Horman’s also offers great briny eats. Stock up and make it worth these vendors’ long drive to Sloatsburg.

The Spring Fling Thing is being coordinated by the Library’s Jerry Graham, who worked diligently last summer on the library’s Farmers Market experience. Graham feels the whole Spring Fling package should provide a concentrated day of good things the library can offer the community.

Sunday, April 28, the day after the Sloatsburg Library Spring Fling Thing, the Sloatsburg Chamber of Commerce holds its annual Spring Block Party across the street from the library at Village Walk. The Sloatsburg Library is a vital member of the chamber.
