SPLhomepageReady. Set. Go this coming Saturday to the Sloatsburg Public Library because it’s celebrating the roll out of a brand new website that will feature many enhanced patron services.

The Sloatsburg Public Library invites patrons to drop by on Saturday, March 29, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to learn about the library’s programs and enhanced services.

SPLlaunchparty“We’re excited about relaunching the library site,” said Annmarie McAnany, known by many locally as head of the library’s children services and Summer Reading maven. McAnany headed up the library’s recent web project and also acts as library assistant manager.

“The new site will showcase some of the library’s important learning tools as well as give us the ability to communicate to our patrons,” McAnany said. “We have many programs and community activities that we are excited to share. We want everyone to know that the library is about much more than books.”

Saturday’s event will also give patrons an opportunity to sign up to the library’s email list. Why do that? So you’ll be connected to all the things going on at Sloatsburg’s busy community resource.

Most local patrons know the library has plenty of books, a rack of magazines and wall of the latest DVDs they can check out for free. But the library’s also a great source for interesting programs, and with the addition of its website, the Sloatsburg Library will be able to offer enhanced digital services to patrons.

Need homework help? Check. Want to work on your job skills? No problem. Need to prepare to take the SAT or download music for free? With Saturday’s rollout, patrons will be able to access to all those tools plus much more.

“After we work out all the wrinkles, I think that residents will be surprised at all the services the library provides to the community,” library Manager Mary Blake said.

“We hope it’s a fun, helpful website,” said McAnany. “We’ want patrons to see what the library offers, and be able to get to those services with just a few clicks.”
