Station House Two For Sloatsburg

The Sloatsburg Fire Department recently expanded into a second station, taking over the building on village property at Village Hall that formally housed Curves. Originally built for Sloatsburg’s sanitation trucks, before the village contracted garbage collection services out to the Rockland County Solid Waste Authority, the building has now come full circle as newly operational Station 2.

Station 2 houses several smaller department trucks as well as additional fire equipment, freeing up space at the main station. With a new garage door installed on the building’s west side for truck to enter/exit, the fire department plans further upgrades.

“The building probably will remain that for the next several years,” said Sloatsburg Mayor Carl Wright. “Last year we acquired a lot additional equipment and we’ve given them [fire department] this building.”
