Spring Jamboree celebrates trail town life and offers plenty of activity in and around Suffern and Sloatsburg Saturday

Get out and explore Sloatsburg Saturday when the the Friends of Harmony Hall take a hike to Liberty Rock and join with the communities of Tuxedo and Suffern for a Springtime Jamboree. Don’t mind the cloudy skies.

HH May 14 Trail Town mainPart of the Explore Harriman effort to cultivate local trail town activities, Saturday’s activities include the Tuxedo and Suffern Farmers’ Markets, complete with hiker’s booth, a Friend’s of Sterling Forest Bird Walk, and a free Hike with Mike into Harriman State Park.

Mountain Peak Fitness will also be taking part in the activities with a heart-pounding hike steep climb through the ups and downs of the Bear Mountain Trail. The Mountain Peak Fitness folks will gather at the Suffern Train Station at 6 a.m. and to shuttle to the Bear Mountain trailhead where the adventure will begin. The 23 mile trek ends in Suffern. Suffern nature and adventure photography dynamic duo Michael Malandra and Susan Magnano from PhoTour Adventures will also be participating in the Spring Jamboree by holding a photo outing.
