Summer has arrived in a Sloatsburg, wet and cool, and with it the last days of school for most students in the Suffern Central School District. The final days of the school year at Sloatsburg Elementary School also marks the end of popular Principal Dr. Joseph Lloyd’s tenure with the Suffern Central School District.

Sloatsburg Elementary School Principal Dr. Joe Lloyd hams it up at the most recent St. Joan of Arc Carnival at the end of May in Sloatsburg.

Dr. Lloyd will become the new Director of Staff Relations for South Orangetown Central School District, effective July 14. The last day of school at Sloatsburg Elementary School is Wednesday, June 26.

Lloyd was named principal at Sloatsburg in 2014 and in his brief time became an important part of the Sloatsburg community, seeing the village elementary school through improvements, contributing to the growth of the local PTA and leading Sloatsburg Elementary with positive energy and enthusiasm.

From seasonal concerts and Halloween Parades and Olympic Days to art shows, 4th grade history tours and orientations, Joe Lloyd became a familiar face around Sloatsburg. He was officially introduced as the new principal by Superintendent Dr. Douglas Adams during a meeting in the Sloatsburg Elementary School gym in 2014 and received a standing ovation.

He exits the Village of Sloatsburg to applause as well. Sloatsburg Chamber of Commerce savvy social media expert Marianna Krichevsky captured the Sloatsburg Elementary School end of school year special 90th Anniversary Concert, which also served to celebrate the tenure of Dr. Joesph Lloyd.
