Signs Of The Time

The Sloatsburg Public Library is getting a fresh coat of paint, one of the many projects, large and small, that help improve the look of the village. Sign maker Mike Iannaccone recently lent his hand to the effort, with a nice bright blue revitalizing and reposting of the Senior Center sign just across from the library.

Iannaccone operates his own custom sign company in the village and examples of his work are scattered around the village, including the signage at Sloatsburg Elementary School and the distinctive Hayward’s Deli sign hanging above the popular store. Mike also recreated the Sloatsburg logo for the village’s new Ford Focus, as well as the decal on the new Department of Public Works truck. Next up locally for Iannaccone may be a refresh of the Justice Court sign that stands nearly invisibly at the Municipal Building. The project would refashion the sign in the same eye-catching blue of the Senior Center sign.

Iannaccone said he does “basically everything, from store fronts to vehicles,” with 17 years experience in sign design, fabrication and installation.  “I probably did every sign in Suffern at one time,” said Iannaccone, a Suffern native and Sloatsburg resident.

Like many of the trade and crafts people who live and work in this area, Iannaccone operates a small business that that can do nearly any kind of project in his field. So, if you’re in need of vehicle signage, call the Sign Shop. Or maybe your business needs some upgraded electrical bells and whistles, Iannaccone’s Sign Shop can handle that too.
