Senator David Carlucci (D-Rockland/Westchester) will hold mobile office hours at the library Saturday, where he will update residents on issues the senator is track while answering questions residents might have.

Carlucci recently helped secure repair dollars for the stone wall that runs along the southern stretch of Rt. 17, across the street from Rhodes North Tavern. It was at one of Carlucci’s mobile office visits to Sloatsburg that a resident discussed the failing wall with the senator, who then met with Mayor Carl Wright about the issue. The result was Carlucci securing $75,000 in State Capitol funding to repair the wall.

“Having critical funding to replace this over 100 year old stone wall will go a long way to protecting motorists and pedestrians,” said Senator Carlucci about the funding.

Sloatsburg George O’Dell, who has a house that the wall borders, said the collapsing wall has made him nervous for years now. “I’m glad we involved Senator Carlucci, who was able to quickly act and make sure we had the funding necessary to keep our friends and neighbors safe,” said Carlucci.

If you have a local issue you’d like to discuss with the senator, Saturday would be a good opportunity.

Senator Carlucci will hold mobile office hours at the Sloatsburg Public Library on Saturday, October 11, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
