Senator Carlucci Wants To Hear From You

Posted on 11 October 2012 by Editor

Get out your book of complaints and head down to the Sloatsburg Public Library Saturday afternoon. State Senator David Carlucci (D-Rockland/Orange) will be available to meet with local residents from 1 p.m. through 3 p.m. about any issues the might want to discuss.

Sen. Carlucci’s visit is part of his overall continuing effort to meet constituents from all parts of district 38. Carlucci will take questions from constituents on everything from taxes to senior issues. The senator will be joined by Sloatsburg Mayor Carl Wright.

Carlucci was elected to represent the 38th State Senate District in November 2010 at the age of 29, which made him the youngest sitting state senator. Prior to serving in the senate, Carlucci served as the Town Clerk for the Town of Clarkstown, where he still lives. Carlucci was born and raised in Clarkstown.

One of the senator’s recent Rockland projects has been his Senior Advisory Committee Meeting, which explores issues related to seniors, one of the fastest-growing populations in Rockland County. The most pressing issues that Rockland seniors worry most about? Falling behind in technology and meeting increasing healthcare costs and taxes on a fixed income. Kim Tran writes more extensively about Carlucci’s seniors’ outreach here.

“Rockland County faces new challenges among an increasingly aging demographic and it is important to meet these challenges by having an active level of participation among those who are affected,” said Senator Carlucci. “We have an opportunity to make sure that seniors are provided a more efficient delivery of healthcare services, utilize new technologies, and understand how legislation can impact their lives.”

So, head on over to the Sloatsburg Library Saturday afternoon and find out where Sen. Carlucci stands on all your pet issues, from fracking to the Tappan Zee Bridge construction and desalination. Or keep it real local.
