Secret Sloatsburg Spots

Posted on 16 January 2012 by Editor

Another in the semi-regular photo series Secret Sloatsburg Spots that explores interesting and odd places or spots around Sloatsburg. This week features a picture of stairs that lead to nowhere but an empty, tangled yard. This spot is fascinating in that it harkens back to other historical places in Sloatsburg’s past, especially the remnants of Cappermore Farm stone entranceway, located across from the train station. People in the Pine Grove Lakes neighborhood drive past these stairs everyday. The stairs in this picture appear to belong to part of an entry of a what was once a much larger property or entranceway. This particular location houses a bit of Sloatsburg history itself. Do you know where these steps lead to?
