You know Halloween is approaching when all the monster movies begin their early October run at the movie theater and on the always bingeable Netflix. And, oh yeah, you know the season has tipped its hand when the leaves begin their October turn to yellow and orange.

First to fall this year appears to be the yellow fellows from the many surrounding black birch trees.

2016-village-halloween-paradeThis year there will be any number of local festivities celebrating the season, from the Villages of Sloatsburg’s and Suffer’s Halloween Parades to the Sloatsburg Elementary School Halloween poster and pumpkin decorating events to a Harmony Hall Halloween party to the Sloatsburg Fire Department’s Ladies Auxiliary Trunk or Treat.

And for all those residents of Tuxedo, get out this Saturday to the Fall Family Festival at Powerhouse Park.
