New Year, New Ways … Take a Poll on Village Improvements

Posted on 17 January 2017 by Editor

With the New Year here, SloatsburgVillage.com will periodically run a survey or poll to encourage reader engagement on issues or ideas that might impact Sloatsburg’s quality of life.

The Sloatsburg Village Board will hold a Special Meeting at the Municipal Building on Tuesday, September 6 at 6 p.m.

Participate in the SVdotcom poll — should Village Hall provide more flexible hours one day per week?

First out of the box is a poll that touches on an issue that comes up frequently — office hours at Village Hall.

Specifically, with many Sloatsburgers off to work early morning and often returning home again after sunset, should the Village offer flexible (later) office hours one day per week.

Currently, the Village is open for business most days from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. If Sloatsburgers respond to this poll, we’ll hit you with a follow up survey that provides more options on flexible hours.

Perhaps office hrs at village hall 1day a week from 12:00 to 8 pm would be helpful for the 9 to 5ers or even every other week

  2. Liz Says:

Flex/later hours one day a week or even every other week as mentioned by Michael would seem fair.

  3. Dave Veraja Says:

If village offices are [Online] most business could be conducted via the internet. The village should post a calendar much like Suffern schools already does, listing all the Holiday office closings. It seems village offices are closed like 30 holidays days a year as compared to average folks who receive 12 holidays /year. This is the direct result of village offices closing pre and post the official holiday.
