It’s Spaghetti Saturday in Sloatsburg

With the first week of March blowing all cold and snowy, take a break with some Irish music Saturday at the Sloatsburg Library. Blues skies and warmer weather on on the menu for next week.

partingglassbandSPLEnjoy the pre-St. Patty’s Day fun stomp of the Parting Glass Band Saturday, March 7, starting at 1 p.m. at the Sloatsburg Library. The trio of musicians play most anything Irish, including those traditional favorites from the likes of the Clancy Brothers, Dubliners and Wolkfe Tones. As always, the show is free and takes place in the library’s community room.

The Parting Glass Band play Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Sloatsburg Library. The event is free.

Between sets, the Friends of the Sloatsburg Library will host a tea and Irish soda bread interlude

If you work up an appetite at the show, scoot over to the the Sloatsburg D.A.R.E. Spaghetti Dinner at St. Joan of Arc Church Hall. Take out begins at 4:30 p.m.

daredinner20thSaturday afternoon marks the 20th Annual D.A.R.E., which raises funds for the local Sloatsburg Elementary School D.A.R.E. program. As always, the event is sponsored by The Friends of Sloatsburg School and other private donations.

The event takes place at St. Joan of Arc Church, 32 Eagle Valley Road in Sloatsburg. Take Out is from 4:30-5:30 p.m. and dinner is from 5:30-8 p.m. Adults/$10 and Kids(ages 3-12)/$5. For more info call 753-2727 or 753-6851.
