Holiday Spirit at the Sloatsburg Library

Posted on 27 November 2011 by Editor

There may not be chestnuts roasting on an open fire, but there will most certainly be the sights and sounds of the holidays at the Sloatsburg Public Library’s 3rd annual vendor holiday fair. Sponsored by the Friends of the Sloatsburg Public Library, the fair attracts crafters from across Rockland County, with funds raised used to help improve library programs and services.

Last year’s holiday fair featured more than 20 vendors for people to visit, from chocolateers and knitters to custom sign crafters and jewelry makers; there were booths selling special herbs and salts as well as holiday decorations, foods and gifts. The chocolate booth was especially popular, featuring custom-made pieces of assorted chocolate flavors.

The Friends of the Sloatsburg Library is a community group that works to support the library year round through its book sales and the holiday fair and volunteer work, with group donations going toward activities such as the library’s Children’s Summer Reading Program as well as additional adult programming.

This year’s vendor fair takes place Saturday, December 3rd from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, call the Sloatsburg Library at 753-2001.
