sterlingtonstationsuperbowlWith the sun threatening to shine, Sunday afternoon should feel downright balmy when compared to the recent zero degree weather. And what better way to spend a nice afternoon than watching the very last football game of the season?

With the 48th annual Super Bowl being readied to be played in a parking lot in New Jersey Sunday — officially known as MetLife Stadium — locals don’t have to ticket up to enjoy a good tailgate party.

sterlingtonstationsuperbowlSterlington Station Restaurant along Seven Lakes Drive in Sloatsburg, NY will host a Tailgate to the Superbowl pre-game afternoon of plenty of food and fun. TJ Nienstedt, who helps operate Sterlington, said there will be plenty of BBQ, burgers and hotdogs.

“A lot of people are going to go to other places and we thought this was a good way to get them fed them and send them on their way,” said Nienstedt, who added that all are welcome to stick around. Nienstedt has thrown out a challenge to those who attend the Sterlington Station tailgate party — it concerns the final score of the game and some lucky winner’s tab.

$25 per person gets you all the BBQ (and other food on the party menu) you can eat, plus draft and can beer you can eat from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., when the game action begins. $40 gets you the same all through the game.

Nienstedt said Sterlington will have an assortment of can beers. All Tuned Up will perform a special pre-game show.
